GETTING STARTED - SELLERS
Before putting your home on the market, there are several steps you should take in order to ensure the greatest
amount of positive feedback from prospective buyers and help to sell it faster�
SELF INSPECTION YARD
☐ Walk through home and view objectively, removing ☐ Mow or trim grass surrounding home�
any emotion/sentimentality attached to it� ☐ Re-sod the yard or re-mulch flower/plant beds, if
☐ Make a list of the repairs/changes that need to be needed�
made� ☐ Continue grass/plant maintenance�
☐ Don’t make over-costly changes� ☐ Remove any overgrowth and dead/diseased plants,
☐ Prioritize list - placing those that require more shrubs, grass and trees�
work or outside resources at the top� ☐ Weed flower beds�
☐ Create a timeline of necessary repairs/changes WINDOWS & DOORS
before showings to prospective buyers� ☐ Polish hardware; knobs, locks, etc�
☐ Ensure they open and close with ease and no
REPAIR, CHANGES & CLEANING CHECKLIST squeaking; or repairs needed�
☐ Check doorbell functionality�
EXTERIOR ☐ Clean both inside and outside�
☐ Clean out gutters, downspouts, chimney, etc� ☐ Repair any cracks, tears or holes�
☐ Patch peeling or chipped paint with new paint� ☐ Apply a fresh coat of paint, if needed�
☐ Replace damaged roof shingles if applicable�
☐ Repair, paint or stain any overly worn wood decks�
☐ Clean dark spots or stains left on concrete or ENTRY
driveway� ☐ Make sure this area is spotless; clean floors, rugs,
☐ Clean and repair fencing surrounding home and decorative pieces, etc�
ensure it’s intact� ☐ Eliminate any clutter to enhance space
☐ Maintain good exterior lighting, especially along ☐ Ensure good, functional lighting
