SUBDIVISION ENDORSEMENT
ALTA ENDORSEMENT 26
I. Purpose:
The ALTA 26 endorsement is designed to insure that the insured land as described
constitutes a lawfully created parcel in accordance with state laws and local
ordinances.
The ALTA 26 endorsement may be issued with both owner’s and loan policies.
II. Coverage Provided:
The ALTA 26 endorsement insures against loss or damage in the event that the
land insured under the policy has not been lawfully created under state statutes
and/or local ordinances relating to the subdivision of real property.
III. Title Tips:
Title company will confirm that any subdivision of land was appropriately created
and approved pursuant to local ordinances and state statutes.
