Guide To The Most Requested Commercial Endorsements
FOREWORD
The Old Republic Title National Commercial Services team is proud to provide this Guide to the
most commonly requested endorsements for commercial title insurance projects.
With guidance from our experienced underwriters, endorsements issued in connection with
title insurance policies can provide coverage that is not contained in the policy or for a specific
risk or matter. Endorsements can modify, expand, or provide affirmative coverage (where
allowed), and are a part of the title insurance policy subject to the terms and provisions of the
policy and endorsements issued.
The American Land Title Association (“ALTA”) has standardized and adopted endorsement
forms to provide consistency and certainty when practicing in multiple jurisdictions. This
Guide provides information on those endorsements that are most commonly requested in
commercial transactions and is not intended as a reference for all ALTA endorsements.
The information provided in this Guide is for educational purposes only and does not purport
to provide legal advice. Every endorsement requires underwriting by the Company’s
knowledgeable underwriters, taking into account the facts and circumstances of each
transaction and the law, rules, and regulations of the jurisdiction in which the real property is
located. The endorsements contained in this Guide are not available in all states.
We look forward to servicing your commercial transaction needs. If you have any questions
about the availability and requirements for the issuance of any endorsement for your
transaction or you would like additional information, please contact your Old Republic Title
representative.
